About Gold Bar

Gold Bar is located on the Skykomish River between Sultan and Index, connected by U.S. Route 2. The population was 2,403 at the 2020 census.

Gold Bar is known as a white-water rafting destination for those seeking to float the Skykomish River. One of the most popular low elevation hikes in the metro Seattle area, the trail to Wallace Falls, is located on the north margin of the city. More than 160,000 people visit Wallace Falls State Park annually.

People traveling to and from the area can take Community Transit's Route 270/271, which runs between Gold Bar, Sultan, Monroe, Snohomish, and Everett. Gold Bard Park & Ride is an option for riders, too. Community Transit's DART paratransit service and Vanpool are also options for local riders.

June is Ride Transit Month. Celebrate with us!

Community Transit is encouraging all to ride this month.
Ride Transit Month logo

Last year, Governor Inslee and 14 local jurisdictions in the state of Washington officially proclaimed June as “Ride Transit Month” and encouraged people to ride transit as much as they could during the month. While Community Transit focuses every day on making travel easier, this is a great time to celebrate riding transit with our fellow agencies and transit advocates across the state.

Throughout Ride Transit Month, Community Transit will be engaging with the communities we serve in Snohomish County, educating people about the services we provide and encouraging people to ride transit.

New to transit and don’t know where to start? We’ve rounded up some of the ways to ride transit and we have a Rider Guides to get you started online. We’ll also be at several events this month if you see us out in your community, don’t hesitate to visit with us and ask any questions.

Community Transit is encouraging everyone to ride transit this month. Check out some fun ways you can participate.
