Want to save money on bus fare? Community Transit offers reduced fares for riders with lower incomes through the ORCA LIFT program. You can now visit Community Transit's Ride Store in person every Monday and Thursday from 2–5 p.m. to enroll in a reduced fare program — no appointment needed!

What is ORCA LIFT?

ORCA LIFT is an income-qualified program. It works like a regular ORCA card but costs less, making your fare $1 per ride with Community Transit.

Who qualifies for ORCA LIFT?

If your income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, you may qualify for an ORCA LIFT card. If you get Apple Health (Medicaid), WIC, Basic Food, or DSHS benefits, you’re automatically eligible. Learn more at myORCA.com.

If you meet eligibility requirements, you may also be able to get a subsidized annual pass, which lets you ride local transit services at no cost for an entire year. If you live in King, Pierce, or Snohomish Counties and receive certain state cash benefits, you could be eligible. Check here to learn more.

Don’t forget: Youth ages 18 and under ride free on local transit.

Sign Up for ORCA LIFT and the subsidized annual pass at the Ride Store

If you qualify, you can now sign up for ORCA LIFT at the Ride Store at Lynnwood City Center Station on Mondays and Thursdays from 2–5 p.m. Please note: subsidized annual pass enrollment is currently available Thursdays only.

Here’s how it works:

  • Stop by the table in the front area of the Ride Store.
  • A representative from one of Community Transit’s partner agencies will check if you qualify and help you sign up in about 10–15 minutes.
  • Bring your ID so they can verify your eligibility. If you don’t receive benefits like SNAP, Apple Health, WIC, or TANF, you may be able to use pay stubs or an employment letter.
  • You’ll get a new ORCA LIFT card on the spot — ready to use the same day! The card will be preloaded with a one-time amount of $20.
  • Need translation help? A translation service is available at these events.
  • Already have a regular Adult ORCA card? The representative can guide you on transferring your balance to your new card.

Want to check if you qualify before visiting in person? Learn more on the ORCA website or call the Community Health Access Program at 800-756-5437.
