A renovated Lake Stevens Transit Center

Phase one of a repair project has been finished recently  

Lake Stevens Transit Center is one of Community Transit’s “newest” transit centers, having opened in 2004. Like any well used facility at that age, it was time for a refresh. 

A construction project is in progress to repair worn and damaged items on this site and substantially add to the rider experience. The timing happens to coincide with other major construction in the area around Frontier Village.

With an average of more than 120 boardings occurring in a weekday this transit center is seen as an important transportation spot in Snohomish County. Since 2016 it has been the connection between Routes 109 and 209, which take riders from Ash Way Park & Ride in the south to Smokey Point in the north.

During its 18 years of service, there has been standard maintenance to preserve Lake Stevens Transit Center but now a broader upgrade is going on.

Phase one of the project was completed this summer and includes a renovated bus loop and concrete replacement on several road panels. In addition, extensive restorations were done to the parking areas with a completely re-sealed and re-striped parking lot.

New security cameras are in the installation process.

Phase two will begin next year and consists of re-painting the vertical surfaces and metal canopies. Altogether, these changes will give Lake Stevens Transit Center a new look.
