Agency Hosting Onsite Job Fair, April 27

Agency to hire 150 drivers, mechanics and admin staff in 2019

Snohomish County, Wash. – Community Transit is hosting a job fair at its South Everett operations base from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April. 27. The agency is looking to hire more than 150 new employees this year to support future service expansion.

The job fair is being held on a Saturday to allow more people to attend. With such a tight job market in the region, Community Transit is targeting people who are already employed but may be considering a career change. In addition to drivers and mechanics, Community Transit is hiring customer service, planning, and other administrative staff.Bus Mechanic

At the job fair, people can ask questions about the agency and learn tips and tricks for applying and interviewing. Applicants are encouraged to bring a resume to the event. They can also learn about the agency’s strong benefits package and other advantages that make Community Transit an employer of choice.

The event will be an interactive opportunity for attendees to experience what it is like to sit behind the wheel of a Community Transit bus and tour the shop where buses are repaired and maintained. Current employees will be on hand to describe a “day in the life” of a driver or mechanic.

Community Transit is expanding bus service in Snohomish County to meet fast-growing population demands. By 2022 the agency will have expanded service 40 percent since 2016. The agency has hired more than 200 employees in that time.

The job fair will be held at the Merrill Creek Base in Everett at 7100 Hardeson Road in Everett.
