Bike and Bus, or Just Bike During Bike Everywhere Month
New Snohomish County Bike Map to be distributed on May 19
Snohomish County, Wash. – May is Bike Everywhere Month and Community Transit is celebrating the use of bikes and buses by releasing a new 2017 Snohomish County Bike Map on May 19.
Cascade Bicycle Club and F5 are teaming up to sponsor Bike Everywhere Month encouraging local residents to jump on their bike and join in the fun! The goal is to celebrate all types of bicycling, including recreational riding, commuting to work and biking for everyday transportation. Activities for the month include the Bike Challenge, where teams compete to log the most miles of biking during the month. Also, a social media contest will award prizes to those who share photos and biking adventures on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter using the hashtag #BikeEverywhere.
Friday, May 19 is Bike Everywhere Day, when people are encouraged to bike to work, school or other destinations. Community Transit will host four local celebration stations for cyclists that day and will unveil the brand new 2017 Snohomish County Bike Map.
Bike riders can pick up a copy of the bike map at the celebration stations and also fuel up with snacks and drinks, get free souvenirs, enter drawings for fabulous prizes and even have a mechanic look over their bike. The best way to celebrate Bike Everywhere Month is simply to get on a bike, ride to work, ride to the grocery store or just ride for the sheer joy of being outside soaking up the spring weather!
Community Transit’s Clean Air Superhero Oxy Gene will be on hand to greet riders at the Celebration Station at the Lynnwood Transit Center. Stop by one of these Community Transit Celebration Stations:

Community Transit encourages people to incorporate bikes and buses in their daily commute all year long. Every Community Transit bus is equipped with a bike rack, and instructional videos are available that show how to use the bike racks. Bus riders can store their bikes in bike lockers located at park & rides throughout the county. More information is available at www.communitytransit.org/bikes.
Community Transit is responsible for providing bus and paratransit service, vanpool and alternative commute options in Snohomish County.
