Keep booking your trips as you do now through Jan. 31.
The Zip Shuttle app will be available for Alderwood customers beginning on Feb. 1. If you’re booking trips by calling – you can continue to call (425) 521-5600, or use our new toll-free phone number: (833) DIAL-ZIP (342-5947).
Your enhanced app experience will include:
You can download the Zip Shuttle app now, however, booking in Alderwood will begin on Feb. 1. In the meantime, you’re welcome to get your account set up, set your preferences, and let us know if you have any questions. We’ll help you get set up so you’re ready to book trips in the new app on Feb. 1.
Step 1
Get the app
Download the Zip Shuttle app from the Apple App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android to your device.
Step 2
Set up your account
Create your account profile. Select “Special Settings” to let us know if you need wheelchair accessibility or if you are a Reduced Fare cardholder. You can also add a form of payment if you wish to pay with a debit or credit card via the app.
Step 3
Set your pick-up location
Tap on the "Start from" button to set your pick-up location. You can type a business or address and select from a drop-down list, or place a pin on the map of where you'd like to be picked up.
Step 4
Set your destination
Tell us where you'd like to go! Under "Where would you like to go?", click into the "My Destination" field and type in your drop-off location, choose from the search drop-down list, or select a location on the map.
Step 5
Book your trip
The app will show you available trips. Select the one you want to book and tap the blue "Book This Ride" button at the bottom of the screen. The app will pair you with a Zip Shuttle for your trip.
Step 6
Your shuttle is on the way!
You'll receive confirmation that your trip is booked and where you will be picked-up. Get details about your Zip Shuttle, driver, and estimated pick-up time. The app will let you see the vehicle in transit as it makes its way to pick you up. Make sure you're ready to go when your ride arrives!
To book by phone, you can continue to use the same (425) 521-5600 phone number as before, or you can dial the new 1-833-DIAL-ZIP number.
To book by app starting February 1, please download the new Zip Shuttle app available for iOS (Apple) and Android devices. The GOIN’ app will no longer work for booking rides.
Payment options and fares remain the same. You can tap your ORCA or pay with cash on-board, or add a credit / debit card to the Zip Shuttle app. When paying with cash, exact fare is required.
To add your credit or debit card as a payment method in the app, tap the payment button in the upper right corner. Then select “Add a new payment method”. Enter your card details and tap the “Save” button.
The Zip Shuttle app lets you indicate which payment method you’d like to use. You can select ORCA / paper ticket to use your ORCA card or pay with exact cash, or you can choose to add a credit / debit card.
Selecting ORCA / paper ticket will allow you to tap multiple ORCA cards on-board, or pay one person’s fare with ORCA and another with cash. When paying only with ORCA, each rider must have their own card and must show their card to the driver when boarding.
Selecting to pay with a credit / debit card will pay for all riders in the trip booking with the credit card added to the account.
Tap the passenger dropdown menu (below the address field) and tap the plus button “+” next to the correct passenger category for each additional passenger in your party.
If booking by phone, let the agent know if any of these categories apply to you.
If booking through the Zip Shuttle app, click on the menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen, select “Special Settings” and then push the toggle button(s) that apply to you. Once these are selected they apply to all future ride requests (e.g. you do not have to toggle on each time you request a ride).
They will be new. Please let them know any special instructions about preferred pick-up and drop-off locations and anything else that will help with your ride experience.
The vehicles will be new, but will have the same blue and white color scheme and Community Transit Zip Shuttle graphics. We will continue to provide wheelchair accessible minivans and regular passenger minivans. New fleet additions will also include Tesla Model Y mid-size SUVs.
Bike racks and car seats for young children will now be available with Zip.
If booking by phone, please let the agent know if you need these amenities. If booking through the Zip Shuttle app, tap the passenger dropdown menu (below the address field) and select the item you need.
No, you do not. However, if you wish to delete your GOIN’ account, you can tap the account menu icon in the upper right corner of the GOIN’ app, then tap “Delete Account” a the bottom right. You can also uninstall the GOIN’ app after Jan. 31 if you wish.
It’s been our focus to improve Zip Shuttle service for our customers. The new app provides new features, a simplified booking experience, more precise trip details, and better real-time information. Smarter ride pairings through the app also mean you’ll get to your destination faster. The service contract for Zip Shuttle Alderwood expires January 31 and a new vendor was chosen following a competitive process (this is why the drivers, call center agents, and the app are new).
