Older Adult riders getting into Community Transit bus

Transit tips for older adults

We help people of all ages and abilities connect to their community and important services--including senior centers, medical services, retail centers, and libraries.

Reduced fare information

The easiest way to pay for your trip is with an ORCA card. The Senior Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) gives riders 65+ discounted fares on fixed-route buses, Sound Transit trains, Link light rail, Washington State Ferries, and other regional transit options. Riders must use an ORCA card to get the discounted fare.

  • Reduced rates for ORCA card users ages 65 and older and for riders living with disabilities.
  • Tap your ORCA card or pay with cash. If paying with cash, please use exact change.
  • Riders taking a Swift bus route can also pay with a credit or debit card at the station kiosk.
